My trip to London 2023 - Day 2 (Street photography)

The second day was less eventful but the images taken still display a level of skill. I experimented with various techniques to achieve a level of dynamic and cinematic complexity. Panning shots, geometric composition, and the use of reflecting objects allowed me to add a sense of depth to the images. Like you are diving into the photos or something is coming right back at you when looking at them. My personal favorite from the bunch is the first called "Perspective".

Perspective:

I took this photo using a shutter speed of 0.5 - 1 second and kept the focus on the subject while trying to move relative to the speed of the subject.

Geometry:

While walking around the center of London I came across this building which has an almost crystal clear reflection of the surroundings. I tried to line the building in a manner that would create leading lines towards the sky to give an essence of superiority. This photo would have not worked as well if it had been taken in color. The contrast present between the reflection and the sky is further accentuated by the varying intensities of light spread across the glass pans.

Feelings reflected:

Although this image is my least favorite, I still think it is a good example of the use of reflections. Not much to say about this :D

Artist at work:

This image was taken within the National Gallery. It depicts an artist who was specifically hired by the gallery to draw lifetime sketches of the commotion going on within the gallery. He sketches the figures in his unique style, capturing the individuality of people wandering around the gallery.

Thank you for reading my short "photo-analysis" blog, hope you learned something from it!
